Two Maids & A Mop & Founder Recognized At 2019 Bulldog 100

Two Maids & A Mop CEO & Founder, Ron Holt, accepted honors for our company’s exponential growth and for his own entrepreneurial achievements at the 2019 Bulldog 100 hosted by the University of Georgia Alumni Association in Atlanta. Two Maids & A Mop, recently named by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the top 500 franchises to own in America, was named as the 17th fastest growing business owned by a UGA alumni. In addition, the highlight of the evening occurred when our company’s CEO & Founder was named the recipient of the 2019 Michael J. Bryan entrepreneurial spirit award. The award is given to an UGA-educated entrepreneur that has experienced sustained business growth while also providing consistent support to the university. Only one award winner is announced each year.

“This event is always the highlight of my year in terms of recognizing our business’ growth,” said Ron Holt. “The University of Georgia provided me with an amazing framework that continues to propel me today. I am honored to be recognized by the school and excited to celebrate another year of record growth for our business and brand.”

This year’s award represents the 6th time that Two Maids & A Mop has been named to the exclusive list of fast growing businesses. You can visit the 2019 Bulldog 100 website for a complete list of all 100 fast-growing businesses.

Two Maids & A Mop Named to 2019 Franchise 500

The 2019 Franchise 500 has been released by Entrepreneur Magazine and our brand is honored to be ranked #285 in this year’s list of best franchises. Placement in the ultra-exclusive Franchise 500 is a highly sought-after honor in the franchise industry, as evidenced by the fact that Entrepreneur Magazine received more than 1,000 applications this year, making it one of the company’s most competitive rankings ever.

Two Maids & A Mop also earned the #5 ranking in the residential cleaning category. “This is an incredible honor that is a direct result of our long-term commitment to disrupting the residential cleaning industry, “said Ron Holt, CEO & Founder of Two Maids & A Mop. “The maid service industry has experienced very little change since its inception more than 30 years ago. Earning such a honorable distinction such as the Franchise 500 places us in the top 5 brands in the entire country, yet we still serve less than 100 markets across the country. The sky is the limit to our growth and our brand is excited to be a disruptive force to our industry.”

The primary factors that go into the evaluation include costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength and financial strength and stability. Each franchise is given a cumulative score based on an analysis of more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500 in ranking order.

Over its 40 years in existence, the Franchise 500 has become both a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for potential franchisees.

Two Maids & A Mop Featured in Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal recently published an article that discussed the early positive signs of a strong economy for the US economy in 2019. As part of the research for the article, the editors of the WSJ reached out to Two Maids & A Mop to learn more about the demand of the residential cleaning industry and its impact on our franchisees’ pool of labor. As the article indicates, the economy still appears to be very strong and demand for consumer services such as home cleaning is growing at exponential rates. This strong demand is great for the economy because it produces more and more jobs across our franchise network. Our CEO – Ron Holt – was interviewed for the Wall Street Journal article and discussed our brand’s attempt to offer attractive job opportunities to a shrinking talent pool

Ron Holt, CEO of Birmingham, AL based Two Maids & A Mop, said his company may be forgoing millions of dollars in revenue because its franchisees can’t hire enough workers to clean homes. The 500-employee franchise network would add another 50 workers across several dozen locations if it could, Mr. Holt said. With those additional employees, “we’d be able to answer every phone call and respond to every email and not say the word ‘no,’” Mr. Holt said. “That’s the word we never want to say in our business.” To attract workers, many of the company’s franchisees have added health insurance benefits, he said.

Two Maids & A Mop offers an unique selling proposition called the Pay for Performance Plan and also executes an innovative lead generation marketing strategy that focuses entirely on digital advertising channels. The success of our business model across the country can be attributed to our hungry franchisees, our successful lead generation strategy and our unique way of delivering value to a consumer. We’re literally growing so fast that many of our franchisees have to slow their growth in order to handle the volume of new business. It’s a great time to be in the residential cleaning industry!

Two Maids & A Mop Named Top 100 Most Innovative Franchise Brands

Two Maids & A Mop has been named by Franchise Business Review as one of the Top 100 Most Most Innovative Franchises Brands for 2018. The franchise magazine surveyed over 24,000 franchisees from hundreds of franchise brands to determine the most innovative franchises, based 100 percent on franchisee satisfaction. Each survey participant was asked 33 benchmark questions about their franchisor that focused on areas such as leadership, training, and core values as well 16 more personal questions concerning their business lifestyle and overall enjoyment of running their franchise.

“We entered the residential cleaning industry more than sixteen years ago primarily because we recognized that the industry lacked any real innovation,” said Ron Holt, CEO & Founder of Two Maids & A Mop. “This is a big honor because our franchisees are doing all of the talking. Our franchisees know that our business is much more than a house cleaning company. We have our own internal software team that has worked hard to build an amazing product that automates almost all of our business model.”

How Two Maids & A Mop Gives Back

The nationwide growth for the Two Maids & A Mop brand typically receives a lot of recognition. Our growth has been spectacular and many within the franchising industry have taken notice as a result. But among all the fast growth stories and national awards, there lies a hidden virtue of our brand that should receive just as much recognition.

Dan Brosseau, our franchisee in Naperville, was recently profiled by a Chicago-area TV station and his commitment to the Cleaning for a Reason foundation was spotlighted. Our network of franchisees are proud to be members of this wonderful charitable organization and we prove it everyday across the country by providing free cleaning services to women undergoing cancer treatment. We’ve provided thousands of free cleanings over the past decade totaling more than $500,000 in value. The service is available to women undergoing cancer treatments within any of our participating franchise locations. To apply for the free house cleaning, visit Cleaning For A Reason now.

Two Maids & A Mop Named Top Emerging Franchise in America

Two Maids & A Mop Home Office Team

Franchise Business Review, a leading magazine dedicated to the franchising industry, recently published its annual list of top emerging franchise brands and has included Two Maids & A Mop as one of the top 7 most interesting brands to watch.

“We’re always excited for our brand’s growth and success to be recognized”, said Ron Holt, CEO & Founder of Two Maids & A Mop. “This particular award is even more exciting because the designation is achieved by collecting feedback from our current franchise owners. We take great pride in supporting our franchisees and look forward to growing with them as we continue to scale across the country.”

According to Franchise Business Review, this honor is exclusive to brands that have been in business less than five years but are already showing potential for sustained success and growth. Two Maids & A Mop opened its first doors way back in 2003 along the gulf coast of Florida in Pensacola. After opening twelve affiliate-owned locations, the company researched the franchise industry and decided to allow franchisees to utilize its proven business model. The result has been phenomenal, with the initial franchise opening in Tampa, FL in 2013 and 70+ additional franchises opening since then.

Congratulations to Two Maids & A Mop on yet another outstanding accomplishment and award recognition!

Two Maids & A Mop Featured in Orlando Sentinel

After surgery, 12 rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiation sessions, Lisa Ford found she no longer had the energy or inclination to worry about scrubbing her bathtub.

“I felt like every cell in my body was under attack,” said Ford, a 50-year-old Oviedo, FL resident diagnosed with breast cancer last fall. “My focus was on surviving the biggest battle of my life.”

So two months ago, when a local home cleaning company contacted her with an offer to clean her home for free, she didn’t hesitate long.

Cleaning for a Reason, a nationwide nonprofit, put her in touch with Two Maids & A Mop of Oviedo, a for-profit franchise business that donates housecleaning services to women fighting cancer.

“It was a team of two women, and they scrubbed my house from top to bottom for four hours,” Ford said. “I was just floored. They made my house sparkle like I had not seen it sparkle in many years.”

Melody Montgomery, who opened the Seminole/Volusia franchise just five weeks ago, donated the cost of the cleaning from her own pocket — paying her staff as she would for any other job. The charitable work is a big reason she signed on with the franchise, she said.

Montgomery lost her sister-in-law to cancer two years ago. “She fought three times, but after her third cancer, she didn’t make it,” Montgomery said. “I just always felt like, ‘What can I do to make anything about this better for you? I know how much this part of your life sucks, and if I could take away one little piece of the burden — even if it’s only a Lego block out of a whole building — I would do it.’”

Cleaning for a Reason, started by a Texas woman, recruits housekeeping services across the country — 1,200 of them at last count — to help supply the labor. Since 2006, its providers have volunteered their time to clean for more than 30,200 women, services valued at about $10 million.

Two Maids & A Mop of Orlando, which covers Orange County, also participates. “I do it because I believe in the cause,” said franchise owner Anthony Truong, now in his third year with the business. “I’ve met some of these patients, and they’re not in good shape. I just can’t imagine what it’s like not to be able to fend for yourself because you have this disease, this condition you never asked for.”

Montgomery, who worked with cancer patients for eight years in her previous job running imaging centers, worries that not enough people know about the free service. Though she can only accept two patients at a time herself — each gets a thorough monthly cleaning for two months — she still wants to spread the word.

“I know I never heard of it until I signed on with the franchise, and I had spent years in all these oncology centers,” she said. “Now I’m sending out brochures to doctors’ offices.”

In Ford’s case, her 24-year-old daughter, Malia Campbell, discovered the service while researching online. If you or anyone you know is currently undergoing cancer treatment, please visit Cleaning For A Reason to learn more about the application process.

2018 Annual Franchisee Conference

MaidCon 2018 on Bourbon Street in New Orleans

Another amazing MaidCon is on the books!

MaidCon 2018 occurred during the weekend of June 15-17th down in New Orleans. The conference was a tremendous success with 98% of our franchisees attending the fun-filled event. The special event brings franchisees together for a full weekend of networking, education and entertainment. Speakers for this year’s conference talked about everything from improving the customer experience to upgrading the talent level inside a franchisee’s office. We enjoyed multiple panel discussions with franchisees from across our growing network and the roundtables again represented one of the most lively events of the weekend. The social life was active with the event being held in New Orleans and the highlight was a private-escort with a band down the lively avenues of Bourbon Street.

“I was overwhelmed by the sense of hunger and ambition inside the conference this year,” said Ron Holt, CEO & Founder of Two Maids & A Mop. “The energy level was at an all-time high and I’m already looking forward to next year’s conference with our franchisees. Two Maids & A Mop is a true family and the hustle of our franchisees is never more evident than we’re all together talking shop. I love them and believe they are the real reason for the brand’s tremendous success.”

This year’s award winners include Lee Sheridan of Virginia Beach (Breakthrough Office of the Year), Mari Mallard of Rockville, MD (Fastest Growing Office of the Year), and Jim Torcivia of Nashville (Most Talked About Office of the Year). The biggest award of the evening is always the induction of two new members of the Pink Blazer Club. The award is given to the two franchises with the highest bottom line profit margin. Representing the 0-2 year franchises was Anthony Truong of Orlando & representing the 2+ year-old franchises was Elizabeth Lamar of Huntsville. The annual awards are always fun, but the bottom line is that these franchisees are growing their business at an extremely healthy rate due to their drive, determination and quest for success.

MaidCon brings national vendors, business experts, franchisees and our home office staff together for a fun-filled weekend of events designed to help propel every franchisee’s business for the net twelve months. It may sound like just another business conference, but it’s so much more for the people attending the show. It’s a family reunion that produces life-long memories for everyone in the Two Maids family. Go Two Maids!
