Two Maids & A MopTwo Maids & A Mop shifted its growth strategy from a corporate store expansion plan to franchising a couple of years ago. At the time, we employed nearly 160 people and served twelve markets across five US states. Business was booming and we had aggressive plans for expansion into other markets across the country. That’s when news of the employer mandate within Obamacare hit the news wires. At the time, we freaked out because our growth strategy was no longer viable. After a few months, we decided to learn more about the idea of franchising. Boy, are we glad that Obamacare forced our hand because our growth prospects are even brighter today. Two Maids & A Mop was recently named a finalist by the Birmingham Business Alliance for the 2014 Small Business of the Year. The award is the most celebrated and prestigious business recognition for the local Birmingham business community.

Being named a finalist was an extremely proud moment for our CEO & Founder, Ron Holt. “I can still remember our early days when we were literally just two maids and a mop. The strength and momentum of the Two Maids & A Mop is bigger today than ever before. But it wasn’t long ago that we were truly struggling to find our niche. Thankfully, we know our place in the marketplace today and are proud to provide a different type of cleaning service experience to our customers and franchise owners”, Holt stated.

The event was attended by more than 1,000 business-minded people from the Birmingham area and the Two Maids & A Mop stood tall against many of the area’s larger employers. Congratulations Two Maids & A Mop!!

Free Cleaning Services for Women Undergoing Cancer Treatment

Two Maids & A Mop is extremely honored to be a proud partner with Cleaning For A Reason, a nationwide charitable foundation that provides free house cleaning services to women undergoing cancer treatment. To date, our company has cleaned more than 1500 homes for women with cancer with a value of more than $200,000 in donated cleanings.

Earlier today, our company’s COO was interviewed by a local radio station about Cleaning For A Reason. The interview went great but the most precious moment occurred when a local Cleaning For A Reason patient spoke directly to David about her appreciation and admiration for the free service. It was a special moment and we’re so humbled to provide a service that makes a difference in these women’s lives.

Two Maids & A Mop Set To Open in Washington, DC!

The Two Maids & A Mop story just keeps getting better and better every day. We are excited to announce that our next franchised location will be in Washington, DC. LA Martin, the current Tennessee Territory Manager for Two Maids & A Mop, will serve as the franchisee and operating manager.

I still remember meeting LA for the very first time in Nashville. She was a young, energetic pistol that had a clear plan for her future. LA has served in almost every role within our company and I am so proud that her loyalty and dedication has finally paid off in a big way. She’s always excelled within our company and I know that success will continue to follow her once open in DC. LA’s office will serve the entire DC metropolitan market and be based out of Rockville, MD.
