Two Maids & A Mop Moves Up in 2020 Franchise 500 List of Best Franchises in North America

Two Maids & A Mop celebrates being ranked in the Entrepreneur Magazine list of best franchise brands to own in this year’s Franchise 500 list, ranking #210.

The franchise industry is extremely competitive and the magazine boasts that earning a spot on this year’s list more was more competitive than ever before. Entrepreneur reported: “More than 1,100 companies applied for this year’s ranking, and those that rose to the top reveal the latest trends as well as the companies that continue to evolve to keep going strong year after year.”

The Franchise 500 list analyzes five key areas of franchise brands: costs and fees, support and training, size and growth, brand strength, and financial strength and stability.

“It’s a huge honor to be included in this prestigious group of franchise brands. I can still remember the early days when we were frantically trying to build out the operating model. To see us compared to so many industry giants is an incredible piece of recognition that is attributable to our hard-working franchise owners across the country. Our franchise network is comprised of a bunch of gritty, passionate entrepreneurs that truly want to disrupt the residential cleaning industry,” said Two Maids & A Mop founder and CEO Ron Holt.

To be eligible to rank on the Franchise 500 2020 list, according to Entrepreneur, a franchisor must have been seeking new franchisees in the U.S. or Canada and must have had a minimum of 10 units open and operating as of July 31, 2019, with at least one franchise located in North America. Each eligible franchisor was scored based on more than 150 data points, and those with the highest cumulative scores became the Franchise 500.

Two Maids & A Mop Named #40 Best Franchise to Own in 2019 by Entrepreneur Magazine

Two Maids & A Mop is excited to announce that it has been ranked in Entrepreneur’s “Top Franchises for Less Than $100,000” list. The brand was rated number 40 on the prestigious list of strategic franchise investment opportunities.

Entrepreneur Magazine’s franchise industry analysts compile the list based on scores received on the Franchise 500 evaluation, which analyzes more than 150 data points in the categories of costs and fees, size and growth, franchisee support, brand strength and financial strength and stability. This high ranking on the list is a testament to our strength as a franchise opportunity and position as a leading investment in its price segment.

“This is an incredible honor for our business and brand,” said Ron Holt, CEO and Founder of Two Maids & A Mop. “We’ve always believed that our role was to totally disrupt the residential cleaning industry by allowing customer feedback to directly determine employee compensation. Its been a game-changer for a long time now and it’s fun seeing the tangible results being recognized. We’re so proud of our history and look forward to an even brighter future.”

The Two Maids & A Mop story dates back more than sixteen years ago after our founder decided to open the first office in Pensacola, FL. Today, we serve 79 markets across the country and clean nearly 300,000 homes per year. The plan is to open anywhere from 25-30 new franchised offices each year for the next 10-15 years.

Two Maids & A Mop Named to 2019 Franchise 500

The 2019 Franchise 500 has been released by Entrepreneur Magazine and our brand is honored to be ranked #285 in this year’s list of best franchises. Placement in the ultra-exclusive Franchise 500 is a highly sought-after honor in the franchise industry, as evidenced by the fact that Entrepreneur Magazine received more than 1,000 applications this year, making it one of the company’s most competitive rankings ever.

Two Maids & A Mop also earned the #5 ranking in the residential cleaning category. “This is an incredible honor that is a direct result of our long-term commitment to disrupting the residential cleaning industry, “said Ron Holt, CEO & Founder of Two Maids & A Mop. “The maid service industry has experienced very little change since its inception more than 30 years ago. Earning such a honorable distinction such as the Franchise 500 places us in the top 5 brands in the entire country, yet we still serve less than 100 markets across the country. The sky is the limit to our growth and our brand is excited to be a disruptive force to our industry.”

The primary factors that go into the evaluation include costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength and financial strength and stability. Each franchise is given a cumulative score based on an analysis of more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500 in ranking order.

Over its 40 years in existence, the Franchise 500 has become both a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for potential franchisees.

Two Maids & A Mop Recognized as #11 Top New Franchise by Entrepreneur Magazine

Entrepreneur Magazine just announced its list of the next big brands in franchising and we’re excited to be ranked as the 11th best top new franchise in America. The list of high-flying franchises is comprised of brands that appear to be on the cusp of becoming a nationally known brand.

“Our story dates back more than 15 years ago after we opened the first office on April Fools’ Day way back in 2003,” said Ron Holt, CEO & Founder of Two Maids & A Mop. “I opened that first office in Pensacola as a sort of business incubator. I tried just about everything until I finally landed on the best idea of my life: the now-famous Pay for Performance Plan. I’m honored for our brand to be included in this up and coming list but also reminded that we didn’t just start building this business yesterday. It’s been a long journey built on years of strategic planning and execution.”

The brands included on the list are ranked based on the scores they received in Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500 evaluation, which analyzes more than 150 data points in the areas of costs and fees, size and growth, franchisee support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability.

Two Maids & A Mop Named to Franchise 500

Entrepreneur Magazine has released its annual Franchise 500 listing and we’re excited to announce that Two Maids & A Mop has been selected #235 in this year’s prestigious list of franchise companies. Check out what Entrepreneur Magazine had to say about this year’s listing.

“Our annual Franchise 500 list tends to evolve by degrees. It is our continuing effort to best understand and evaluate the franchise marketplace, and we look at fundamental factors — unit growth, investment cost, brand stability and more — as well as factors like social media presence. And this means, over the years, that new categories shift in and out. Franchises come and go. But some stalwarts remain dominant for decades, having mastered that savvy balance between innovation and reliability. This year, in fact, we have a convenient comparison to the past: It’s the first time in 25 years that more than 1,000 companies applied to be part of our ranking. To be exact, we received 1,023 entries this time.”

The recent growth within the Two Maids & A Mop franchise network is so exciting. We’re a small family comprised of ex-corporate executives, stay at home moms, serial entrepreneurs & business people searching to disrupt industry. Times are so good right now and we’re still so early in the game. We’re proud of this big-time national recognition and owe much of our success to our great franchisees and their hard-working employees. Go Two Maids!!

Another nationwide article featuring the Two Maids & A Mop brand!!

“Take a cue from Two Maids & A Mop founder Ron Holt: Six months after starting that cleaning business, he introduced a pay-for-performance plan that determines compensation according to how customers rate employees’ service, on a 1-to-10 scale. Customers loved the idea, and employees were motivated to boost their rankings. Holt added 175 employees, and his sales skyrocketed.”

The Pay for Performance Plan indeed saved Two Maids & A Mop. It created an instant selling tool that was extremely unique in our industry. And even better, it created an ownership mentality that was in dire need during those early years. That was a long time ago but the truth is the plan still serves both purposes. The compensation plan continues to be a true purple cow in a very crowded marketplace. Two Maids & A Mop is just as different as a silly purple cow and the biggest difference maker continues to be our unique Pay for Performance compensation plan.
